We've gotta have one of my down and dirty ‐ no bullshit conversations.
#StraightUp - Here's the situation...
THE FLORAL INDUSTRY IS CURRENTLY IN THE MIDST OF A WORLD WIDE FLOWER SHORTAGE.
We are really starting to feel the pinch on flower front. Both local & imported fresh flower supply has been impacted due to the current weather patterns across the globe.
Internationally Covid shut down nearly everything. With Loss of man power farms were forced to downsize or shutdown completely. The production on farms that are able to be back in business is very low and growth is slow, putting them far behind what's normal for the season.
Even shipping is being greatly impacted due to cargo ships being stuck in canals & cargo planes being packed with product that's been on backorder for months.
Currently our local farms who operate on a much smaller scale are 2-3 weeks behind on growth because of the previous storms & cooler weather we've been having here in CA.
With things starting to reopen & many people finally able to come back to work, my usual suppliers are struggling to get the product in AND keep enough in stock.
The flower demand is on the rise therefore flower prices & shipping costs are also skyrocketing.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR YOU?
This means that you're going to see some definite changes across the floral industry. Floral supply will be lower than normal. Shipping will take longer. The cost of flowers & delivery fees will increase. Product from some areas may effect the quality.
WHAT WILL FLOWERS & SERVICES LOOK LIKE FROM WTF?
– I can't guarantee any specific flower varieties, quantity, or colors due to availability & shipping issues.
– I can't guarantee prices or product availablity for future event work.
+ I will continue to maintain the same quality & freshness guarantee as always.
+ I will continue to be transparent about what's happening.
/ The size of your arrangements MAY look smaller than usual as prices continue to fluctuate.
/ The price you've been used to paying MAY increase for some products.
/ There will be an increase in delivery fees.
